Best Practices for Chromecast

Our website, applications for iOS and Android support Chromecast devices. You only need to play the content and the Cast icon will appear on your device if there is a Chromecast available.

Inactive cast extension

For an efficient use of Chromecast we recommend following these steps:

  1. Turn on your TV before entering the Fanatiz app.

  2. Check if the Chromecast device is connected to your TV and turned on.

  3. Check if your TV appears in the list of devices you can send content to.

  4. Verify that the mobile device, tablet or computer you use to send content is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast or TV with Chromecast built-in.

  5. If there were any recent changes to your Wi-Fi network, restart your device and try again.

  6. The Chromecast device must be within 15-20 feet (4-6 m) of the mobile device or tablet you're using.

In case it doesn't work or you have problems sending content to your TV:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the Chromecast device, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in.

  2. Make sure the mobile device, tablet, or computer you use to cast is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast or TV with Chromecast built-in.

  3. If you have multiple devices connected to your TV, you can try leaving only the Chromecast device connected and disconnecting the rest.

  4. Restart your network device.

  5. Do an internet upload speed test speedtest.net

  6. Try to successfully set up your Chromecast device from the Google Home App.

  7. Try again.

What devices work with Chromecast?

Chromecast works well with apps from iOS, Android, Chrome Browsers. It can work with Wi-Fi enabled Android smartphones and tablets; iPhone®, iPad®; Chrome for Mac® and Chrome for Windows®; and ChromeOS.

Mobile operating system requirements

You can use the Google Home app on compatible mobile devices to set up Chromecast with Google TV, Chromecast, Chromecast Ultra, Chromecast Audio, and TVs with Chromecast built-in.

The Google Home app is compatible with the following mobile devices:

  • Android phone running Android 8.0 or later

  • Android tablet running Android 8.0 or later

  • iPhone or iPad with iOS 14.0 or later
